Just when everyone thought the Indiana Fever had finally moved on from their heartbreaking overtime loss against the Washington Mystics, Caitlin Clark found herself trending once again. Only this time, it had nothing to do with her deep three-pointers or late-game heroics. Instead, fans were calling out the WNBA over a major stat-sheet mistake involving the Fever star. But the good news is they have corrected it.
In one of the most electric performances of the early 2026 season, the 24-year-old did everything she could to lead her team to a win against the Mystics. She exploded with 32 points and forced the game into overtime. However, despite her heroics, Indiana still fell short, and the game ended with a 104-102 loss. But after the final buzzer, fans noticed that Clark was credited with only 8 assists when it should have been ten.
That quickly sparked a massive backlash as many questioned how the league missed such clear plays. So eventually, the WNBA corrected the stat sheet and officially awarded her the two missing assists, which helped her set a new record.
“Caitlin Clark is officially the first player in WNBA history to record multiple games of 30+ points and 10+ assists,” the Fever posted on X, after the correction became official.
Yes, you read that right! With this update, Clark is now the first player in the league with several 30+ points and 10+ assists games. Still, that’s not it. The young star also owns the WNBA record for the most career games with at least 20 points and 10 assists after reaching that mark for the 11th time.
But what were these assists that the league failed to count?
The first came during the second quarter when Clark aggressively attacked the paint before kicking the ball out to Monique Billings in the corner, who immediately knocked down the three-pointer off the pass. The second happened late in the fourth quarter when Clark handed the ball off cleanly to Kelsey Mitchell, who then went on to drill another three.
Both plays directly led to immediate baskets.
So while the correction may have arrived after the Mystics game was already over, it still completely changed the historical significance of her performance before Indiana even stepped onto the floor against the Seattle Storm for their next game, where Clark further solidified her status as one of the greats.
Caitlin Clark Extends Historic WNBA Record as Fever Finally Break Through at Home
Coming off all the conversations surrounding the missing assists, Clark once again delivered another dominant all-around performance as the Fever secured their first home win of the 2026 season with an 89-78 victory over Seattle.
Even without Aliyah Boston, who missed the first regular game of this season due to a lower-leg injury, Indiana looked far more composed on both ends of the floor. They played better defense and controlled the rebounding battle. And once again, Clark sat right at the center of it all.

The Fever star finished the game with 21 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds in only 24 minutes. This helped her record the 12th 20+ point and 10+ assist game of her career.
But the best part of this game was that Caitlin Clark did not need to force any difficult shot like she did against Washington.
Moreover, Kelsey Mitchell added another 17 points, while Sophie Cunningham provided a huge spark off the bench with 17 of her own. Even Rookie Raven Johnson impressed the fans with her defense.
That balance is exactly what made this win feel so important for Indiana, because they finally looked more connected as a team against Seattle.
So, with Caitlin Clark continuing to stack historic performances while her team slowly starts finding rhythm on both ends of the floor, this may end up being the kind of win that finally helps Indiana settle into its identity moving forward
