UFC Vegas 115 returned to Meta Apex on Saturday night, and the event has already attracted controversy. The preliminary fight between Dione Barbosa and Melissa Gatto was overshadowed by a controversial moment that has now forced the pros to speak out on social media. So, what happened?
In round two, Barbosa landed a questionable soccer kick on a grounded Gatto, appearing to knock her out. Despite the severity, officials allowed the fight to continue after review and deducted a point. Gatto recovered, but the incident defined the bout.

In the end, Barbosa won the fight via majority decision. The judges scored the fight 28-28, 29-27, 29-27. However, the pros don’t want to let the moment go quite yet.
UFC Women’s flyweight Casey O’Neill commented, “Woahhhh huge illegal kick
#UFCVegas115. What is going on #ufcvegas115.”
Meanwhile, former UFC star Jeff Molina added, “This is how people die. Insane sequences in MMA never fail to shock tf out of me.”
UFC flyweight Charles Johnson, however, had other ideas. “That is not a foul! If knee is off ground it’s not a foul anymore hands can be down,” he wrote. “Bisping completely wrong here, she faked passing out for the point. Fight should’ve then went to Barbosa via KO after review.”
