While most WNBA prospects are battling draft-day nerves, LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson is sharpening her game with a trainer trusted by NBA royalty.

Fresh off the LSU Tigers’ Sweet 16 exit, Johnson was spotted getting reps in with renowned NBA trainer Chris Brickley, a name closely associated with elite-level offseason development.

From working with some of the biggest stars in the NBA, like LeBron James, to now sharing the court with one of college basketball’s brightest names, Brickley’s presence only adds to the growing anticipation around Johnson’s next step. And the timing couldn’t be better.

With the draft set to take place at The Shed in New York City, Johnson is officially among the invited Top 15 prospects expected to attend the event in person. She will be joined by UCLA center Lauren Betts, Connecticut guard Azzi Fudd, and TCU guard Olivia Miles.

“Wow, dreams coming true,” Flau’jae Johnson wrote on X, after the announcement.

In her final season with the Tigers, Johnson averaged 14.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

Her veteran experience and leadership skills played a key role in leading the Tigers to 29 wins in 35 games. Even as their tournament run ended in the Sweet 16, her individual stock has only continued to rise heading into draft night.

With workouts already underway and the spotlight inching closer, it’s safe to say Johnson is ready for New York.

But while her focus now is on what lies ahead, Johnson hasn’t lost sight of the chapter she’s leaving behind.

Flau’jae Johnson Closes Her LSU Chapter With Emotional Tribute to Coach Kim Mulkey

After spending four years at LSU, it’s time for Johnson to finally bid farewell to the program that made her who she is today. But more than the program itself, it was her bond with head coach Mulkey that defined the journey, and she made sure to acknowledge that.

Taking to X, the LSU star shared an emotional message that captured just how much her run meant to her life.

“LSU… it’s really the end of this chapter 🥹 Grateful for Coach Mulkey and every fan who loved me through it all. Y’all changed my life. Forever LSU. Forever loyal to the soil 💜 This will always be my home. Until next time!! Geaux Tigers Feauxever 🐯😩,” she wrote, alongside pictures with head coach Kim Mulkey.

It’s not hard to see why this goodbye hits differently.

In an era dominated by transfers and NIL, Flau’jae Johnson built one of the most complete careers this program has seen in recent years.

Ever since she stepped on the court as a freshman, she has helped her team in securing a national championship and earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors. In her senior season, she crossed the 2,000-career-point mark, and her impact only grew stronger with time.

By the end of her college run, she wasn’t just a scorer. She evolved into the following:

  • A leader.
  • A two-time All-SEC First Team selection.
  • An All-American Third Team honoree.
  • A finalist for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award.

However, while her LSU story will be remembered long after she’s gone, the next chapter is ready to begin. So which team do you think should draft Flau’jae Johnson? Let us know in the comments!
